A region covering the Central Gawler Craton including two major mines (Challenger and Jacinth-Ambrosia) was settled on to undertake new data acquisition projects. The AMYAC representatives were treated to a tour of the Core Library, including visiting the Hylogger facilities, the vast warehouse storage area, and the 3D visualisation room. The 3D room is a movie-theatre-like facility, allowing users to view geology and geophysics in three-dimensions. It is also perfect for land access discussions. The AMYAC Board were able to view their land as three-dimensional Google Earth imagery, and the geoscientists were able to share proposed survey points as shapefiles and kmz files. AMYAC members easily identified if proposed survey points were located near sensitive locations, and noted if further investigation was warranted on the Representatives from AMYAC tour the shelves of the Core Library. ground through monitoring work during the surveys themselves.Overall the day was a success, with AMYAC members confident that no sensitive sites would be disturbed. They are keen to return to the 3D room with their artist friends (one of the Board members is a director of APY art gallery), to set up a temporary studio and paint landscapes inspired by the immersive 3D imagery. We now await their next Board meeting when we will hear if we have the green light to advance the GP2 acquisition project.Philip Heath Philip.Heath@sa.gov.au Geological Survey of South AustraliaFacetiming an Elder to share maps and discuss land access arrangements.JUNE 2022 PREVIEW 26'
