If you are practicing, studying, or teaching geophysics or a related scientific discipline or have an active interest in the field, we invite you to join the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists. There are more than 1300 members working in many different positions and industries in Australia and overseas who share their experiences and knowledge through our vibrant society.
To serve the ASEG and to support young professionals as they transition from study to employment, the ASEG has a tiered membership that puts Early Career Practitioners on a pathway to full Active Membership. Under this scheme, membership is subsidised and is available for 4 years after graduation. For further information, please kindly contact ASEG's Secretariat.
Retired membership is available for members who have been members of the ASEG for the immediately preceding ten years prior to their election as a Retired Member. Retired members must have ceased gainful employment within the field for which they were qualified to be either an Active or Associate Member and must be aged over 60.
To be eligible for Student Membership, an applicant must be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student in good standing registered at a recognised university or institute. Eligibility for Student Membership shall terminate at the close of the calendar year in which the Student Member ceases to be a graduate or undergraduate student. The duration of a Student Membership is limited to five years.
Students renewing their membership or wishing to join the ASEG should enter their details here. Alternatively, complete this form, scan it and email it to the ASEG's Secretariat.
The ASEG, like the SEG, uses World Bank country classifications to try and make ASEG membership affordable for international members. Countries are grouped based on gross national income per capita: low-income/lower-middle-income economies (Groups I and II), upper-middle income economies (Group III) and high-income economies (Group (IV). A list of countries in each group is provided here.
Members renewing will be emailed a renewal notice and invoice.
Please direct all membership renewal enquiries to the ASEG Secretariat.
Members can log in to the ASEG site to update their contact details, pay their fees online and take part in other members-only functions including free online access to Preview and Exploration Geophysics.
To access your membership profile, login via the button at the top right of each page and at any time you can view your profile by clicking on your name when logged in.
The ASEG's Data Collection policy is described here. Please address any additional inquiries to the Webmaster.
