The Novel DIAS32 DCIP system - description and examples
28 April 2026
Dias Geophysical’s DIAS32 is a fully distributed 3D DCIP acquisition system built on a common voltage referencing (CVR) architecture that enables simultaneous, high-density measurements across large survey areas. CVR enables exceptionally high data volumes comprising multi-scale and multi-azimuth dipoles. This approach enhances depth of investigation and improves sensitivity to complex subsurface geometries, making it well-suited for typical mineral deposit environments. Key advantages include inherent scalability, reduced field effort through battery life and system health visibility, and improved operational efficiency relative to conventional 3D methods. However, these benefits introduce challenges, including large data management requirements, increased computational demands for inversion, and the need for careful survey design. DIAS32 represents a significant evolution in DCIP methodology, enabling more comprehensive and flexible 3D resistivity and chargeability imaging. The system has assisted several clients towards discovery.
