Integrated P-wave / PS-wave Seismic Imaging for Improved Geological Characterisation of Coal Environments

About the Presentation:

The presentation is a summary of a recently completed Velseis research project entitled "Integrated P-wave / PS-wave Seismic Imaging for Improved Geological Characterisation of Coal Environments". This project has focused on examining the lithological information that can be extracted from the integrated interpretation of P and PS data. Attention has also been given to optimising 3C seismic acquisition procedures and modifying converted-wave seismic processing algorithms to improve our converted- wave seismic images.

About the Speaker:

Natasha Hendrick graduated from the University of Qld in 1993 with an Applied Science(Geophysics) Honours degree. She was awarded a University Medal and a Rhodes Scholarship. Following a year at the University of Oxford, Natasha joined Veritas DGC. In 1997 Natasha returned to the University of Qld to undertake her PhD on multi-component seismic. Since completing her PhD Natasha has worked as a Senior Geophysicist for MIM Exploration, and as a Research and Development Geophysicist with Velseis. She will soon commence work as a Senior Research Geophysicist with PGS. Her main areas of research include seismic attributes, seismic modelling, vector processing and converted-wave seismic imaging.
